When dropping off children at school or picking them up parents may want to consider using roads running parallel to Ferry (Collegiate, Roseberry etc). GWMS and SJC administration is in the process of adding new signage to our bus loop and staff parking lot. GWMS has requested parking restrictions be placed along Ferry Road between the hours of 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM and 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM, when school is in session to aid in better traffic flow. GWMS and SJC administration has been in contact with the Winnipeg Police Service and senior administration of the SJASD to help find a solution to the traffic on Ferry Road before and after school.
To ensure students and members of the GWMS community stay safe, the following restrictions have been placed on student drop off and pick up before and after school.
These restrictions are listed below. Please DO NOT:
• Park/stop/drive through the bus loop, this is for bus access only
• Drop your children off in the GWMS staff parking lot between the hours of 8 and 9 AM and 2:30 and 4:00 PM. Traffic turning onto Ferry Road from this parking lot creates gridlock because of bus traffic.
The safest place to drop your children off for school at GWMS is in the student parking lot which is located just south of the bus loop. It is indicate on the map below.
